Raised on a family farm in small town, rural Saskatchewan, Canada, Connie developed a lifelong love of animals and nature. She feels incredibly fortunate to have grown up where she did....close to nature with an abundance of wildlife close by. As a teenager, she spent many hours out in the fields with her mom's old camera, trying to capture the creatures she loved to draw.
Although art took a back seat for many years while she raised her family, Connie returned to drawing at the age of 50 and quickly rediscovered a passion that had never truly disappeared. Working primarily in soft pastels, she is now an accomplished wildlife artist that strives for realism. The rustic allure of wildlife and her love for everything natural inspires her in her artwork where she strives to capture the raw and entrancing beauty of the wild, making an effort to bring each animal to life on canvas.
